Swimillion - Swim for a million pennies
In February the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer is aiming to raise one million pennies through a sponsored swim. Anyone who is fit enough can take part.
Your swim can take place in a pool wherever you like and on different occasions during the month of February. You’ll just need to ensure that the number of lengths listed on your sponsorship form has been verified.
A million pennies is £10,000 which will be a huge help in recruiting the specialist kidney cancer scientists we urgently need to help fight this disease and save lives.
If you or your family, class mates or friends would like to take part, start by registering your interest now. We’ll then send you an official sponsorship form.
You can register by emailing your details here, faxing them to 01223 507095 or writing to the
James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer 46-48 King Street Cambridge CB1 1LN
You can also request a copy of our poster as a PDF, (shown right) to help you drum-up support.
Anyone who raises more than £50 will be given a special Swimillion T-Shirt (see right).
We look forward to hearing from you...

London Marathon April 2008
The charity will not be able to obtain places in the marathon until 2010.
But if you already have a place in the London Marathon on Sunday 13 April 2008 and would like to raise funds on behalf of the Fund please make contact and we will lend you our support.
You can download a sponsorship form on the right to get the ball rolling or sign in at justgiving.
If you are not able to run, you can still ‘take part’ by making a donation in support of Rhodri Williams, the broadcaster and former Welsh rugby union star shown here. He will be raising funds for the charity when he runs his fourth marathon on 13 April. Rhodri would very much appreciate your support.
